|Abstrakt:||MinION is a small portable sequencing device that allows the analysis of sequenced data already during the sequencing run. Such analysis can be used for monitoring the sequencing run progress in real-time as the data are produced and therefore allows the user to decide when they have a sufficient amount of data to terminate the run. However, to get the results in real-time, such analysis often requires a powerful computer with GPU support. We have developed a new monitoring tool for SARS-CoV-2 sequencing runs. Our tool enables on-the-fly analysis on a regular desktop computer without GPU support, using a complex computational pipeline involving base calling, debarcoding, sequence alignment, and variant identification. We have tested our monitoring tool on real sequencing runs of SARS-CoV-2 clinical samples.|
